“My passion for serving seniors started 12 years ago when I started working as the Admissions and Marketing Director for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers in Ohio. I also worked in Assisted Living settings as well. Through the course of my career I wanted to become an Administrator because I felt a calling to be a part of improving lives of our Seniors. I care so much about each Senior I have served and their families throughout the years.  I look forward to getting to know each person individually and feel blessed to be able to be a part of your lives.

I am excited to be a part of Mission Senior Living because their Mission Statement lines up with my personal value system towards our Seniors and Veterans. To be able to give back through Ageless Dreams and our MVP program is exciting. I am honored to serve each and every one of you that entrust your care to our team at Summit Estates.

Lea Miller
Director of Life Enrichment

My name is Lea Miller. I grew up in Northern California, just an hour away from Reno. My past work took me all over the US, and I moved back to the Reno area October 2016, to be closer to my parents and family. I have 2 dogs and a cat; Lucy, Ziggy and Hercules, that I rescued in various states that made the move with me as well.

I come from a background of 10+ years in disaster recovery management, 4 years as a daycare provider and numerous years working with and assisting in senior care of family and friends. I plan to continue my education and expand my skillset to be able to better facilitate the Life Enrichment department and residents.

Mission Senior Living Community has given me great insight into what Senior care can and should be for all of our elders. Our elders that not only helped to shape our world today, but that are passing on their stories, their history, their smiles and their memories with us, each and every day. It’s wonderful to be able to be a part of that and the team here.

Shannon DeCorse
Assistant Director of Life Enrichment

My name is Shannon Gallagher and I was born in Lebanon, Oregon, but relocated to Eureka, California, when I was just a small girl, than moved back to the state of Oregon when I was 21. I  lived in Coos Bay and surrounding areas for about 25 years.I  Decided to move to Nevada in 1991 where my father lived to be closer to him since my son and daughter were into their own lives.

I love life and what it offers each person.

I have five grand children, my oldest grandson is in the United States Navy he has been in for about 8 years. He is a nuclear engineer officer on the submarines I am very proud of him for serving our country.

All of my other grand children are special as well. I have done a lot of things (The old saying goes a Jack of all trades and a master of a few if your lucky) I love what I have chosen to do for a career in activities. What a interesting place to be to be able to bring happiness to each Resident and encourage and to just  love people in a big way to laugh or cry or just to be able to care and  have fun together,  life is short so I feel  we need to do whats important .
(Love one another, be kind, be helpful and to be our best every day).
